A Little curiosity from the 50s - a Dorothy Gray Cosmetics commercial, advertising a new face cream that'll remove ANYTHING from your face. That's right! Anything. To prove it, they use a radioactive tracer in the dirt to see just how much dirt the cold cream removes. You'll be astounded with the results!

Wonder if that model is still alive.

Subject: Use Dorothy Gray, and keep your hair!
It's so quick and easy, takes the same amount of time as inproper cleansing! Really? Did people really talk like that? I love 50s advertising... they spoke properly to an extreme. This was before ad agencies got the idea to do two things... actually "talk" to the viewers, and tell a story. People remember "situations", even if they don't remember the product. In the 60s, you will notice that advertising took a turn, they introduced a situation and spoke directly to the viewer using everyday language.

Love this ad!

Dorothy Gray Salon Cold Cream is used by three out of four nuclear power plant workers. I love it, it gives my skin a special glow.

P.S. I love spots like these,... they are so innocent that they tell the truth.
